About Liz

For the past fifteen years, Liz Miller has studied and taught all types of dance including modern, ballet, swing, ballroom, salsa, hip hop, jazz, and more.
She has a master's degree in counseling psychology and dance/ movement therapy, and spent seven years working
in human services before deciding to pursue dance full time. Currently she teaches dance politics and history at University of Massachusetts, Boston.
Liz’s education and experience make her particularly suited to working with all kinds of people, from toddlers to frail elderly to energetic teens to nervous adults. She can work a room full of people as easily as she can focus on an individual struggling with steps and rhythm. Folks ask Liz to provide everything from kids' classes to corporate entertainment.
Liz loves bringing people together for great parties with live music. In 2006, a dream came true for Liz in the form of Blues Cafe, in Medford, MA. Liz also helps to run Boston Swing Central, an accessible, friendly, weekly Friday night dance in Central Sq., Cambridge. You can also find weekly swing and lindy hop classes in Central Sq. Cambridge.
Since 2006, Liz and Davis Thurber, have been performing and teaching around New England. They dance in the performance group DsheBAM, and placed second in Wicked Lindy 2007, an international competition that takes place in Danvers, MA.
Liz and Davis are particularly
comfortable with large groups, sometimes teaching up to 300 at a time. They are also sought after for acrobatic swing moves known as air steps. Click here for video.
